Personal Bio - Kelly L. Tharp
I was born and raised in Oregon, and grew up in the college town of Corvallis . As an Occupational Therapist of 36 years, my
career spans the young, the old, the living and dying - and everything in between. When I’m not trying desperately to learn how
to write active voice, a language as foreign as Mandarin, I am an accomplished artist of space pictures from the Hubble telescope
and NASA. Other interests include Chinese calligraphy, knitting, and gardening (roses especially), and needless to say ---
everything science fiction: TV, books, Dragon Con. Telling stories started at an early age with a group of pen pals taking on the
persona of Star Trek characters – I was Mongomery Scott (Scotty). I have had Star Wars stories published in Fanzine’s in the
80’s, after which I started on my own full length novels. As for being an author, well --- “Writing keeps me off the streets.” Many
thanks to supportive friends --- Susie O, Kelley P, Doctor B, and Debra J, plus many other friends, co-workers, and relatives who
